165 Green Tractors Distributed to Farmers in Rawalpindi – Punjab Govt Expands Support

The Punjab Agriculture Department distributed 165 high-powered Green Tractors to farmers in Rawalpindi on Sunday. More than 250 farmers attended the event, where they received keys to the subsidized tractors.

Under the scheme, the Punjab government is giving a subsidy of Rs 1 million per tractor, while farmers will pay the remaining cost. Farmers appreciated the initiative and urged the government to continue similar programmes to support agricultural growth.

The tractor distribution ceremony was organized by the Agriculture Extension Department, Rawalpindi. Key guests included MNA Tahira Aurangzeb, MPA Shazia Rizwan, Tahira Mushtaq, and Divisional Director Agriculture Extension Syed Shahid Iftikhar Bukhari.

Syed Shahid Iftikhar Bukhari said that the High Power Green Tractor Scheme, Kisan Card, and other farmer-friendly policies show the government’s commitment to improving farmers’ lives. He added that modern tractors will help increase per-acre production.

MNA Tahira Aurangzeb praised the Punjab Chief Minister’s efforts and announced that farmers who achieve wheat and crop targets under the Green Tractor Scheme and Kisan Card Incentive Program will receive more rewards. She confirmed that 20,000 additional tractors will be distributed across Punjab under the government’s agriculture development vision.

She further stated that farmers will benefit from these tractors, use them for their own fields, and also rent them out at fair prices to help fellow farmers. She emphasized that farmers will play a key role in boosting agricultural progress in Punjab.
