463 Farmers Receive Subsidised Tractors in Rahim Yar Khan Under Punjab Green Tractor Scheme

In a major step toward supporting farmers and strengthening Punjab’s agriculture sector, the government has distributed 463 brand-new tractors to eligible farmers in Rahim Yar Khan under the Chief Minister’s Green Tractor Scheme 2025. The distribution ceremony was held on Saturday and organized by the Agriculture Extension Department.

Each selected farmer received a modern tractor with a subsidy of Rs. 1 million, ensuring easier access to advanced machinery and reducing overall cultivation costs. Farmers were chosen through a transparent e-balloting process, ensuring fairness and equal opportunity for all applicants.

Government Officials Attend Ceremony

The event was led by Deputy Commissioner Zaheer Anwar Jappa, who served as the chief guest. Several prominent personalities from political and administrative circles also participated, including:

  • MPA Nasreen Riaz Gujjar
  • Former MNA Mian Imtiaz Ahmed
  • Former MPA Chaudhry Mehmood-ul-Hassan Cheema
  • Assistant Commissioner Abdul Hanan Khan
  • Sardar Aun Laghari

Senior officials from the Agriculture Department, Director Jamil Ghouri and Deputy Director Dr. Masood Saleem, also attended the ceremony.

Officials highlighted that the Green Tractor Scheme aims to:

  • Improve per-acre yield
  • Strengthen the agricultural economy in South Punjab

The tractors provided will help local farmers adopt modern cultivation techniques, increase efficiency, and reduce dependency on outdated equipment.
